A pressurized liquid container 11 is fitted with an internally threaded boss and a diaphragm 14 formed with a ball 15. An outlet member 20, Fig. 6 (not shown), in the form of a hollow bolt is screwed into the boss until a wedge shaped cutter on the bolt cuts through the diaphragm 15. The cutter wedge pushes the ball clear of the outlet passage by bending a flexible tie-bar 16. A cup 42 may be fitted over a ring 41. The cup is fitted with a dip tube 43 and has an orifice 44, so that the apparatus may be used either way up. In an alternative embodiment the cutter cuts the ball completely clear of the diaphragm and it is ejected with the contents.
