Abstract

[Also in Division E2] In an adjustable mounting arrangement for pieces of furniture in vehicles, in which the pieces are releasably and slidably mounted on a guide rail 1 the guide rail has a hook shaped formation 2 extending along its length, and each piece has a supporting member 11 seated on the guide rail and having a claw-shaped formation 12 engageable beneath the hook-shaped formation of the guide rail, and a retaining screw 14 carried by the member 11 and arranged so as to engage the guide rail to prevent separation of the claw-shaped formation from the hook-shaped formation. In the embodiment described the member 11 is a supporting leg of a seat or table in a vehicle, and the guide rail is screwed to the floor of the vehicle, and has marginal flange formations 3, 4 which retain the edges 5, 6 of a floor covering material. The screw 14 is carried in a threaded insert 15 mounted in a slot in the member 11, and has a conical end which engages in a shallow V-shaped channel in the guide rail.
