Abstract

1,053,905. Printing processes and plates. NATIONAL CASH REGISTER CO. April 7, 1965 [May 11, 1964], No. 14736/65. Heading B6C. [Also in Divisions C2 and G2] A printing master is prepared by placing sheet IV (as shown in the Figure) in contact with sheet III containing a layer of heatsensitive reactants 21, 22 and an image 24. On exposure to heat, the reactants melt and form a coloured ink which is transferred to sheet IV producing the printing master. Copies are run off from the master by placing a receptor sheet in contact and heating. An intermediate master is formed if the data is printed on the heat-sensitive reactants in a pervious material so that on heating, the coloured ink passes through the pervious data and forms a mirror image of the data on the receptor sheet. This intermediate master may then be used to run off copies.
