Abstract

1,052,412. Electro-physical measurement. MAWDSLEY'S Ltd. Sept. 10, 1963 [Aug. 28, 1962], No.32939/62. Heading G1N. [Also in Division H3 ] A differential amplifier for use in conjunction with an electromagnetic induction flowmeter comprises a pair of transistors whose emitter electrodes are connected together through at least one resistor and whose base electrodes are each supplied with a standing bias voltage, the output terminals of the flowmeter being connected to respective ones of the base electrodes, so that the output voltage developed across a load connected in the collecter circuit of one transistor is proportional to the difference between the signal voltages applied to the base electrodes and hence to the output of the flowmeter. Fig. 2 shows a circuit comprising series-connected transistors of opposite-conductivity types. In a second embodiment, Fig. 3 (not shown) two emittercoupled transistors of the same conductivity type are supplied through a third transistor connected as a constant-current source.
