Abstract

[Also in Division C3] A synthetic resin rod insulator comprising a core and a easing is moulded by introducing a second resin into the centre of a first resin contained in a mould before this first resin has gelled or hardened. The mould is rotated in a substantially horizontal position to distribute the first resin around its walls and the second resin is introduced into the centre of the mould in its upright position. Examples are given in which particular polyester and epoxy resins to which fillers and hardening agents are added are specified.
