Abstract

1,048,794. Conveyers; lifts. TRANSPORTPATENT A.B. April 13, 1965 [April 14, 1964], No. 15693/65. Headings B8A and B8L. In a conveyer system comprising two adjacent stacks A, B of cages in a shaft 1 extending through floors in a building, Fig. 1 (not shown), openings 8 in the shaft wall 7, Fig. 3, are normally closed by vertically sliding doors 9 resting on stops 10 in the shaft. In operation, at each landing at which a cage is to be loaded or unloaded, the door 9 is opened by being coupled, by means of a solenoid-actuated hinged catch 16, to a cross-bar 15 of a door operating device common to all the doors. The door operating device comprises a pair of ropes 11, supporting crossbars 15 and connected to a motor 13. A device at each landing for loading and unloading the cages automatically comprises a slide 17, Fig. 4 (not shown) provided with a spring- loaded pusher dog 29 and movable along a rollerway 18 by a link 22 connected by pin-and-slot connections to the slide 17 and to a crank 24 on a rotatable disc 23. The disc 23 is connected by a chain or rope 26 to the associated shaft door 9 whereby, when the door is raised, the disc is rotated and the slide 17 pushes the load 19 into the cage. The dog 29 may be arranged to act in the opposite direction to pull loads out of the cage.
