Natural hydrocarbon gas containing at least 60% methane and at least 80% methane plus ethane is stored in one or more heat insulated containers at temperatures lying between the critical temperature of methane, i.e. - 116‹ F., and - 200‹ F., and at pressures lying between - 15 p.s.i. below and 300 p.s.i. above the bubble point-dew point pressure of the gas mixture at the chosen temperature.
