Abstract
1,047,338. Packaging. SEITZ-WERKE G.m.b.H. Sept. 6, 1963 [Sept. 8, 1962], No. 35218/63. Heading B8C. An apparatus for the mechanized production, filling and closing of thin-walled disposable synthetic resin containers comprises an extruder 10 incorporating a forming device for extruding a tube having a cross-section corresponding to that of a finished container, a cutting device 11 for severing the tube into lengths corresponding to the required lengths of the containers, a closure device 13 for fitting a closure cap to one end of each tube length to form a container, or alternatively for fitting a closure cap to the open end of the tube leaving the extruder prior to severing of the tube, a filling machine 14 for filling the container, a second closure device 15 for closing the container, and conveyer means 12 providing communication between the devices and the machine. As described at the closure, devices 13 and 15, ready made closure caps are supplied singly from a stack, or the caps are formed in situ by punching a strip. The caps are secured to the tube by welding, adhesive, formation of a beading, forming a seam, folding, or a press-fit. After filling, the containers are labelled at a device 16, and may also be sterilized at a device not shown.
