Abstract

1,046,712. Dipper stick extensions. DEERE & CO. Feb. 2, 1965 [May 7, 1964], No. 4464/65. Heading E1F. A telescopic extension 50 for a shovel excavator dipper stick 35 is retracted for movement of the excavator over ground and comprises a pair of plates 51, 52 rigidly interconnected and disposed along opposite sides 40, 41 of the channel and having inwardly projecting flanges 53, 54 to slidably engage with bosses 44-46 (Figs. 6, 3, not shown) formed about pin openings on the sides 40, 41. Two pairs 71, 75 of links are pivotally mounted to the plates 51, 52 by transversely extending pins 70, 78 and are inter-connected by a link 80 at their uppermost ends, where they are operatively connected to a bucket 26 and an hydraulic unit 39 by pivot pins 81, 82. The extension is secured to the dipper stick by pins 90, 91 (Fig. 5, not shown) which extend through the holes within bosses 66, 68 on the plates 51, 52 and within bosses 44, 45 on the channel. For retraction, the pins 90, 91 are removed and the extension retracted until a hole and boss 67 on the plate registers with the hole and boss 46 on the dipper stick 35 so that the pin 91 can be inserted.
