Abstract

1,046,308. Carbon sheet holders. L. K. FLEISCHMANN. April 21, 1965 [Nov. 27, 1964], No. 16729/65. Heading B6A. A carbon sheet holder for use in a typewriter comprises a flexible paper backing member 10, a tail portion 11 having a transverse pocket 19 to receive a pencil-size rod 20 which acts as a stop in the typewriter, a free lip portion 15 at the junction of the member 10 and the tail 11, and a transverse line 17 of stitching which passes through the base of the lip 15 and the member 10, and also through carbon sheets 21, 24. Stationery sheets can be placed between the carbon sheets, and their bottom edges will rest on the transverse stitching 17. As shown, a single folded sheet of paper is used to provide the backing 10, tail 11, pocket 19, and lip 15, and the pocket is defined by a line 18 of stitching. The upper edge of the lip 15 has a reinforcing strip 21 applied thereto In a modification, Figs. 5-7 (not shown), wherein the carbon sheet 44 is reversed to deposit carbon material on the back of a master sheet, the holder comprises a body portion 40 which is zig-zag folded at a line 47 of stitching and then extended to form the tail 43, and folded and stitched at 48 to provide the pocket 49 for the stop rod 20. The lip portion 45 is a separate lower portion of a cover sheet 46 removable along a line 41 of perforations, and a reinforcing tape 42 may be applied to the lip when the cover sheet 46 is removed. ________
