[Also in Division B7] Relates to the unloading of a conveyer train comprising a plurality of undercarriage units each having a cradle 11, Fig. 1, a central spine 13 and wheels 10 and universally articulated together, each unit having a load-carrying pan 12 and a box structure having side walls 15, 17 and vertically relatively staggered end crossmembers 18, the pans 12 being joined by flexible membranes 14, Fig. 2, of rubber and the walls 15 and the walls 17 being connected together by rubber elements 19, wherein the walls 15 are hinged to the pans at one side edge at 16 whilst the other walls 17 rest normally on the other side edges of the pans, the upper edges of the walls 17 each being provided with a roller 21 engageable, at an unloading station, with a guide rail 22. When the train passes through an unloading station the rail track is inclined and as the rollers 21 move along the rail 22 the box structure is moved relative to the pan which eventually attains the inclination necessary to complete the unloading. In another embodiment the pan 12 is hinged to the cradle on the side of the undercarriage opposite to the hinge between the pan and box structure. The roller 21 engages a guide rail extending upwardly and outwardly relative to a horizontal rail track. The undercarriage is retained on the track either by its own weight or by having members formed thereon to engage holding down rails on the track. According to another embodiment wherein the pan is hinged to the cradle, the box structure has a hook thereon instead of a roller and the hooks are engageable by an hydraulic grab device which pulls the box structures sideways and upwards whilst the undercarriages are stationary at an unloading station.
