Abstract

1,041,649. Conveyers. METAL BOX CO. Ltd. July 12, 1965 [Nov. 18, 1964], No. 46954/64. Heading B8A. A roller-bed conveyer comprises three units 1-3 each consisting of rollers 4 supported in U-shaped cradles 6 which are movable by an endless chain 5. The undersides of the cradles on the upper run of each unit are moved along stationary guide elements 10 which take most of the weight of the load. Trough-shaped guards 13 are provided in spaces 11, 12 between the units 1-3 and extend over the free ends of the limbs 8, 9 of the cradles. Withdrawable stops may be provided in the spaces 11, 12 and endless belts 15, 16 are used to receive the load from the roller-bed conveyer. Alternatively, rollers may be provided between the chains 5. Belts may be used instead of the chains. The cradles may be provided with rollers which run on the guides 10.
