Abstract

1041366 Mounting electric hot-plates SIEMENS-ELECTROGERATE A G 20 May 1963 [21 May 1962 14 Dec 1962] 20045/63 Headings F4W W44D W22 and W18B13 Electric hot-plates 13, Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), are supported in an apertured cooker top 1 by a plate 14 which covers the undersides of the hotplates and is connected to the cooker top. The cooker top 1 may be part of a cooking range, part of a combined cooker and sink unit, or may be inserted in an aperture in a worktop of any article of kitchen furniture with or without an intermediate supporting frame. In one embodiment a cooker top of non-rusting sheet metal has a flange 2 bearing through a heat-insulating asbestos strip 6 on the edges 3 of an aperture 4 in a worktop 5. The edges 18 of the plate 14 are bent up to form an enclosure, the air on which acts as a heatinsulating cushion. Additional heat insulation in the form of sheets of asbestos and a reflector of aluminium foil may be provided in the enclosure. Each hot-plate 13 is fixed on the plate 14 by a central screw 15, and is adjusted by screws 16. The plate 14 is supported from the top 1 by screws 19. Terminal strips are also secured to the plate 14. In alternative embodiments, Figs.4 and 5 (not shown), a flat or recessed plate is screwed to brackets which are welded to the top 1.
