Abstract

A dismountable stand comprises a plurality of units connected at their upper ends in side-by-side relationship, each unit comprising independent front and rear frames 1, 2 respectively interconnected in the assembled condition as shown by removable coupling bars 4 of adjustable length. The rear frame 2 comprises a wheeled support 20 carrying telescopic uprights 23 interconnected at their upper ends by a bar 3 having tubular ends 3a, 3b and by fixed hanger bars 28. The front frame 1 comprises a wheeled support 10 which, in the collapsed condition of the stand (Fig. 2, not shown), receives at respective attachment points 12a, 13a a pair of tubular uprights 12, 13 and which supports an articulated rack assembly of pivotally interconnected rods 17, 17<SP>1</SP>, 18a, 18b, 18c. The rack assembly carries height adjustable feet 19 by means of which the assembled inclination of rods 17, 17<SP>1</SP> and hence the height of parallel, co-operating pairs of article support rods 18a, 18b, 18c may be selectively fixed. The uprights 12, 13 carry locking elements 14, 15 which serve firstly to engage co-operating parts 14<SP>1</SP>, 15<SP>1</SP> on the rack assembly to lock the latter with rods 17, 17<SP>1</SP> in a vertical position in the folded stand condition, and secondly to receive one arm of a forked end 41 of a coupling bar 4 in the assembled condition. Locking devices 12b, 13b at the top of the uprights 12, 13 are engaged either by opposite ends of a cross piece 30 in the collapsed stand condition or, as shown in the erected condition of Fig. 1, to respectively engage the lower end of an upright 13 and one end of a cross piece 30. Adjacent units have their aligned front frame cross pieces 30, 31 connected by a detachable sleeve 32 with their rear cross pieces 3 engaged by respective arms of a forked rear end 42 of a coupling bar 4. The various locking means and length adjustment devices comprise screw clamps or pins engaged in holes.
