Abstract

1,038,875. Hypodermic syringes. S. & R. J. EVERETT & CO. Ltd. Feb. 28,1964 [March 26, 1963], No. 11920/63. Heading A5R. A cartridge syringe comprises a disposable plastic cartridge holder 1 with a double-ended needle 2 permanently fixed at one end and an applicator 4 shaped to lock on the end of the holder remote from the needle and including a piston rod 20 and a pair of finger pieces 22. The needle which is protected by a sheath 5 has a ridged slug 13 by which it is secured in the cartridge holder. The applicator 4 is secured on the holder by engagement of projections 7 on the holder with corresponding recesses 9 in the applicator. The holder receives a cartridge 3 having end plugs 15, 24. The holder may be made of polystyrene and is supplied with the needle as a sterile unit.
