Abstract

1,038,586. Combination of a ratchet clutch and a one-way brake. MENSCHNER G.m.b.H., [trading as JOHANNES MENSCHNER TEXTILMASCHINENFABRIK]. Feb. 9, 1965 [Feb. 19, 1964], No. 5605/65. Headings F2C, F2E and F2L. A freewheel clutch comprises spring-pressed rollers 13 between recesses 15 in a driven member 16 and the inner surface of a sprocket 10 which is rotatably mounted on member 16 which in turn is rotatable on a fixed shaft 19. Lugs 23 on a control ring 22, Fig. 3 (not shown), project into recesses 15 ahead of rollers 13, the ring having a lug 25 co-operating with a member 26 of a clutch release mechanism. Spring-pressed rollers 29 are housed between member 16 and a fixed recessed ring 28. A pin on the member 16 engages in a fork on a lever fixed to a further shaft to oscillate this further shaft on rotation of member 16. In operation with sprocket 10 rotating, the member 26 releases the control ring and rollers 13 cause sprocket 10, member 16 and control ring to rotate together until the lug 25 again engages stop member 26 to arrest the control ring whose lugs 23 move the rollers out of wedging engagement. The rollers 29 and ring 28 prevent any return movement of the member 16 to accurately stop and lock it after one revolution.
