Abstract
In a continuous process for the manufacture of organic polyisocyanates, a polyamine hydrochloride is formed by reaction between HCl and a solution of polyamine in an inert solvent at a temperature up to 50 DEG C. and the hydrochloride reacted with phosgene. Diisocyanates derived from benzene, toluene, diphenylmethane, 3-methyldiphenylmethane, biphenyl and naphthalene are specified.
