Abstract

1,035,700. Reinforcing bars. J. A. KIRCHNER. Sept. 30, 1963 [Oct. 12, 1962], No. 38365/63. Heading E1K. A reinforcing bar particularly for concrete comprises a longitudinal groove 3 containing the axis of the bar and ribs 13, 14 in planes at right angles to this axis. The bar may be twisted to provide a helical groove and the ribs 13 are on the flared edges of the groove. The ribs 14 are on the opposite side to the groove and extend round a quarter of the circumference of the bar, but may extend round the circumference to the edges of the groove. Alternate helical ribs 15a and ribs 15b parallel to the bar axis join the ribs 14 or the ribs 15b may be helical in the opposite direction, in the case of an untwisted bar. Ribs 14, 15 may be provided inside the groove 3.
