Abstract

[Also in Division B8] Apparatus conveying articles selected from shelving 11, 12 to a collection point comprises a conveyer 16 extending adjacent the top of the shelving, a carriage 18, 19 supporting a mast 21 and running along the shelving, an elevator 48 lifting selected articles to the top of the mast, transfer means e.g. shoot 55 which receives the articles off the pivoted elevator platforms 51 and rolls them on to the conveyer, and or operator's platform 28 movable up and down the mast. The operator controls from the platform the endless chain conveyer motor, a motor moving the carriage along the rails 13 and a motor rotating lead screws 34 for raising the platform. In a further embodiment the operator controls a further motor for moving the mast along the carriage laterally between under-spaced shelving, in which case the shoot 55 is made extensible.
