Abstract

A circular knitting machine is provided with adjustment devices for varying the dial position, the position of each stitch cam segment, the speed of the winding down rollers and the speed of the thread feeding device, each adjustment device being calibrated to enable the speed or position controlled to be set or reset to any desired value. Calibrated adjustments for the dial stitch cam setting and the speed of the tension applied by the take up roller may also be provided. The adjustments for the rollers may be those described in Specification 1,033,156. The cylinder and dial cam adjusters may comprise a member provided with a spiral slot engaging a pin carried on the cam segment. The dial raising adjustment comprises a spanner operated pinion connected by bevel wheels to a screw threaded member mounted at the dial centre. The thread feeding device comprises a free running pulley for each p thread and a belt surrounding all the pulleys to trap each thread against its pulley.
