Abstract
An aqueous gold electroplating bath as claimed in claim 1 of the parent Specification (i.e. a bath containing 10-200 g/1 of a salt of a weak stable acid, e.g. citric, 4-16 g/1 of Au added as an alkali metal gold cyanide and 1/2 to 20 g/1. of a nitrogen compound having a specified formula the bath being adjusted to a pH of 2.5 to 7.0) is modified in that it also contains up to 60 g/1. of metal ions (calculated as metal) capable of being co-deposited with Au or alternatively up to 60 g/1. of metalloid ions (calculated as metalloid) capable of being codeposited with Au. The ions may be of Ni, Co, As or Sb).
