Draw-gear tensioning and slackening agents.- Relates to means for advancing the draw-bar to facilitate the coupling and uncoupling operations A pivoted distance-piece 6, normally supported by a plate 3 carried by arms 2 mounted on a transverse shaft 1, falls into the position shown in Fig. 4 when the shaft 1 is operated to remove the support 3 from beneath the distance-piece. In the further operation of the shaft 1, hooks 4 on the support 3 engage pins 7 projecting laterally from the distance-piece, which bears against a roller 11 carried by a member 10 secured to the front portion 8 of the draw-bar, which is thereby pushed forward. In the retracted position of the draw-bar, the distance-piece 6, which is pivoted to the cradle 5, is disposed between the forward end of the cradle and the rear end of the member 10. Combined buffer and draw-gear.-Springs 15 are arranged to press the member 10 forwardly, and a buffer spring 16 is carried by the rear end of the cradle. Couplings, non-automatic.-The coupling-link 8<a> is operated by a pair of forked arms, 13 secured to a transverse operating-shaft 12 mounted.in the forward end of the member 10.
