Abstract

In lacquering flat small articles the articles are distributed in a regular pattern in recesses on the surface of a plate, a grating or perforated sheet is placed over the articles on the plate and held pressed thereagainst, the whole then being turned upside down and the plate removed so as to leave the articles on the grating in pattern formation, the articles on the grating are then spraylacquered on one side and subsequently oven dried, the details then being covered with another grating and the first and second gratings with the articles therebetween reversed and the first grating removed and the articles are then spray-lacquered on their other side and again dried. The articles can be initially inserted in the recesses in the plate by placing the plate on an inclined surface, feeding an excess of the articles on to the plate and vibrating it so that one article locates itself in each recess and the excess spills into a collecting means.
