Abstract

1,028,298. Combine-harvesters. MASSEYFERGUSON INC. Nov. 28, 1963 [Nov. 29, 1962], No. 47003/63. Addition to 911,537. Heading A1F. In a modification of the combineharvester described in the parent Specification, a cleaning auger 50, 51 is arranged along the base of each of the grain tanks 20, 21 so as to feed grain to the transverse auger 45, the latter being of larger capacity than the cleaning augers but of smaller capacity than the final-delivery auger 46, to obviate jamming. As in the prior Specification, the cleaned grain is collected within the harvester body 11 by an auger 24 which feeds an endless paddle-conveyer 26. The conveyer 26 discharges into a transverse auger 27 having two outlets 33, 34 respectively positioned above the two tanks 20, 21. The outlet 33 is adjustable between open and closed positions by a flap-valve 35 movable by a lever 38 accessible to an operator, whereby the grain-loading between the tanks can be equalized or deliberately unbalanced as required.
