Abstract

1,028,045. Air cushion vehicles. CROSS & JACKSON Ltd. May 5, 1964 [May 17, 1963], No. 19668/63. Heading B7K. A plenum chamber type of air cushion vehicle 1a (Fig. 2, not shown) has a duct 2 housing a fan 3 which delivers air to the plenum chamber and to an annular duct 4 for discharge from an annular nozzle 5 in the base of the plenum chamber wall, thereby reducing the loss of air from the cushion. Other embodiments are described in which the base of the wall housing nozzles 5 is formed wholly or partially of flexible material.
