A suspender end comprises a button loop 1 and a top link 2 of loop form which is coupled to the button loop by a ferrule which allows relative swivelling between them and a tab 4 which carries a button 19 slidable within the loop to retain a portion of a garment to be supported, the ferrule being made from a blank comprising a front panel and integral with the front panel an apertured rear panel which is folded relative to the front panel to form a wallet receiving the adjoining limbs 6, 7 of the top link and button loop, the limbs being so formed that when assembled in this way they define with portions of the ferrule a pocket which receives a corresponding stud 20 at the end of the button tab and the latter is retained by a folded down flap 14 integral with the front panel. In the construction shown the aperture in the rear panel is open at one end so that the rear panel consists of two legs 13. The blank from which the ferrule is formed is provided with a transverse corrugation 10 and during the folding of the blank to entrap the limbs of the link and loop a transverse corrugation 16 is produced across the two legs and this with the corrugation 10 defines two bearing sleeves 17 which allow the relative swivelling between the link and the loop. The ferrule is provided with two ears (not shown), which prevent the top link pivoting into contact with the front face of the loop 1 during plating or enamelling of the link, loop and ferrule. The flap 14 can also be made long enough so that before it is turned down to entrap the button tab it prevents the link pivoting to touch the other face of the loop. The button tab also has a rib 21 which is received in the corrugation 16 in the front face when the stud 20 is received in the pocket. The portion of the tab from which the stud 20 extends is of reduced thickness compared with the remainder of the tab.
