Abstract
An elastically deformable magnetizable band is made by a process which comprises masticating natural rubber containing a cross-linking agent or accelerator on a roller mill at a temperature of from 150-170 DEG C. until it drops off the rollers, incorporating up to 94% by weight of magnetizable granular particles in the masticated rubber, and vulcanizing the rubber in the form of a band. In the example the granular material is barium ferrite and the band may be used for refrigerator door closing strips.
