Abstract

1,024,826. X-ray tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. April 1, 1963 [April 4, 1962], No. 12815/63. Heading H1D. In an X-ray tube with a metal envelope 1 the cathode filament leads 10, 11 extend through bores 6, 7 in an insulating bar 5 of porcelain or other suitable ceramic which projects through the envelope wall to plug into the insulating sleeve 20 of a current supply cable 19. Contacts 15, 16 at the lower end of the bar 5 co-operate with the supply conductors 17, 18 and the outer conductive sheath 21 of the cable is connected to the metal hood 22. The airtight seal between the sleeve 4 and the bar 5 is formed by a direct soldering joint.
