Abstract

1,024,619. Hay-tedders, seed-distributers. BAMFORDS Ltd. March 2, 1965 [Jan. 30, 1964], No. 3928/64. Headings A1D and A1F. A towed agricultural machine 10 of the type having its major dimension transverse to the line of travel, e.g. a hay-tedder or a seed-distributor, is provided with a drawbar 13 for connection to the towing tractor, the rear end 13b of the drawbar being cranked and received within a horizontal bearing 12 on the machine, the arrangement being that the drawbar is rotatable through 180 degrees between a working position, Fig. 1 (not shown) wherein it is substantially longitudinal of the direction of motion and perpendicular to the major dimension of the towed machine and a transport position, Fig. 2 (not shown) wherein it extends beyond one side of the machine which is slewed round upon adjustable ground-wheels 6, 7 so as to be towed endways, through gateways. The machine illustrated is a drum-tedder which carries, at one end of its frame 11, a plate 15 on which is mounted a horizontal bearing 16 within which is mounted a journal 20 on the end 13b of the drawbar, the drawbar being maintained in an adjusted position by a removable pin 26.
