Abstract

[Also in Division F4] In a two-pipe hot water heating system having flow and return pipes 43, 44 to each radiator 11, the two pipes are run together so that each pipe forms are half of a duplex pipe having the external profile of a single pipe. An air gap or a layer of insulating material such as glass fibre may be arranged between the adjoining walls of the two pipes. The duplex pipe may be mounted direct to the wall underneath the radiator or may be mounted in the corner of the wall and floor, or even attached to the ceiling. The vertical risers and the horizontal branch lines meet at right angles (Fig. 4, not shown) and are in close contact with the wall. The duplex pipes may also be used in airconditioning apparatus with hot-water heat exchangers replacing the radiators.
