Abstract

1,020,641. Low-lift trucks; loading vehicles. JOLODA TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT Ltd. May 13, 1964 [May 16, 1963], No. 19412/63. Headings B8E and B8H. A lifting trolley similar to that described in Specification 952,051 is provided with means for coupling it to a second trolley the arrangement being such that lowering of the handle 24 of the first trolley raises the load supports of both trolleys. As shown, the first trolley comprises a channel section load support 10 carrying double wedge-shaped cams 15 provided with dwells 15a, a pair of bogies 11, 12 coupled by links 13 and provided with cam engaging rollers 17 and a bell crank lever 21 with a handle 24 for moving the bogies relative to the load support 10 thereby causing the cams to ride up the rollers 17 to raise the support 10. The second trolley 36 is of similar construction and is provided with a coupling member 40, comprising a pair of plates formed with hook-like ends 42, and a coupling plate 43 provided with a stud 44. The coupling member 40 is adapted to engage a pin 38 on the bogie 12 and the stud 44 on the plate 43 is adapted to engage in a hole 39 in the load support 10 of the first trolley. The first trolley is provided with an automatic braking device comprising a lever 27 pivoted to the bell crank lever 21 and adapted, when the load platform 10 is raised, to engage a stop, Figs. 3,9 (not shown) in the path of the trolley thereby causing the load platform 10 to be lowered. The trolley runs in a U-section track 31 recessed into the floor, the arrangement being such that the surface of the load platform 10 in its lowered position is level with the floor surface. The track may be set in the floor of a vehicle.
