Abstract

1,020,480. Piezo-electric crystal mountings. MARCONI CO. Ltd. Dec. 23, 1964 [March 20, 1964], No. 11828/64. Heading H1E. A sealed-envelope piezo-electric crystal unit comprises a support plate 4 for the crystal, the plate being held inside the envelope 1 by means of a slotted springy strip 5 which encircles the major part of the periphery of the plate and engages the inner surface of the envelope. As shown, the strip 5 is of roughly triangular form and is provided with three slots through which extend segments 6 of the plate 4. The strip may be curved inwardly in the region of the slots. The plate, which may be of glass, carries three wire legs 3 to which the crystal (not shown) is attached. The wire legs extend through the plate and are attached at their lower ends to pins sealed in the base of the envelope.
