Abstract

1,020,319. Tobacco compositions. AMERICAN MACHINE & FOUNDRY CO. Sept. 2, 1964 [Sept 3, 1963], No. 35911/64. Heading A2C. A tobacco composition comprises tobacco and polyglycerine which acts as a humectant and plasticizer. The polyglyceride has a degree of polymerisation of from 2 to 12 glycerine units and is present in an amount not exceeding 12% of the weight of the tobacco. The polyglycerine may be formed into a paste with tobacco dust and the paste may be cast to form a reconstituted tobacco sheet. Quantitative examples are given.
