Abstract

1,019,936. Container closures. P. MUNDT. Nov. 27, 1962 [Dec. 5, 1961; Dec. 21, 1961], No. 44874/62. Heading B8T. A polyethylene closure formed by injection moulding, for phials containing tablets etc. has a cap 1 supporting a guide ring 2 with ribs 3-5, and spacing elements 6-8 extending from it parallel to its axis, which are joined at their lower ends by a structure designed to position the container contents, and which bend inwardly without fouling each other when compressed towards the cap. The spacing elements 6-8, which have curtailed ribs 9, are preferably attached to the narrower edge of tapered connecting elements 10, 11 which form opposite sides of a rectangle, the rectangle being completed by members 13, 14. Vanes 15 are attached to the rectangular frame to position the container contents and preferably at least one of these vanes is reinforced and angled downwards relative to the others to encourage the inward bending of the spacing elements when it contacts the contents or neck of the container.
