Abstract

Plasticized material or moulded articles comprise polyamides or polyurethanes and 1 to 5% by weight based on the polymer of a phosphorous acid ester of an omega-phenylalkylene alcohol having at least 6 carbon atoms in the alkylene group. Specified alcohols are omega-phenylnonanol - (1), omega - phenyl - 5 - ethylhexanol - (1), omega - phenyldecanol - (1) and 6 - phenylhexanol - (1). The exemplified polymers are (1) polycaprolactam; (2) (a) polycaprylolactam and (b) polyhexamethylene adipamide; (3) a mixture of methylene-biscaprolactam modified polycaprolactam and a copolyamide of hexamethylene diammonium adipate and caprolactam; and (4) a polyurethane derived from hexamethylene diisocyanate and 1: 4-butanediol.
