A collapsible table, which may fold into a cabinet, comprises flaps 11 each associated with one pair of links 14-15, 16-17, 18-19, or 20-21, of each of two parallel linkages 12, 13 which are arranged in an erected position to lie outside the flaps 11 but to provide support for them. The flaps 11 are arranged to move to overlie one another when the linkages are folded. Adjacent pairs of links are pivoted to one another and to a flap 11 at the end of a cross-bar 31, the other end of the flap 11 has a ramp 33, which rests on another cross-bar 32, and a chamfered recess 34 so that when the table is being closed the flap 11 passes between the two cross-bars 31, 32. The pair of links 14, 15 are attached to a wall support with a fixed pivot 23 and a movable pivot 24 slidable in a guide 25. To facilitate opening and closing the table, a handle 26 is provided which is pivoted at 22 or the handle may be a continuation of the last link. A rounded end flap 35 supported by two bars 39 may be used as an ironing board. In a modification shown in Fig. 7 the table is supported on four legs 54 attached to each end of the 'lazy tongs' linkage, by pivots 57, the links 56 being extended to form side rails which are interconnected by a transverse handgrip 55, the legs 54 are of channel-section and have extension legs 65 pivoted to them so that they fold round and fit the channel-section with hooks 70 fitting over the top of the leg 54.
