Abstract

1,018,737. Drain fittings. LEEDS FIRECLAY CO. Ltd. Dec. 29, 1964 [Jan. 6, 1964], No. 502/64. Heading F2G. A method of manufacturing a drain fitting from clay consists in forming a hollow body part 2 with at least one opening 3, 4 in its wall and a complementary hollow part 6 shaped to form a projection from the body, drying and firing the parts and fixing them together with an adhesive which sets so that the two parts become integral. Where one of the openings is not required it may be closed with a plug. The mating surfaces may be roughened or otherwise formed to key the adhesive. Fig. 6 illustrates a hopper 15 with attached trap 16 and gullies 17, 18 all made separately and adhered together.
