Abstract
The invention comprises polymers containing titanium, zirconium, aluminium or ferric atoms joined together through intermediate diorgano phosphinate residues wherein the organo radicals are aryl and/or alkyl. Tetrakis (diorgano phosphinated) titanium or zirconium polymers are made by reacting a titanium or zirconium alkoxide or tetra halide or a zirconium tetrakis acetylacetonate, with a diorgano phosphinic acid. Tris (diorgano phosphinated) aluminium or ferric polymers are made by reacting an aluminium or ferric alkoxide, acetylacetonate or trihalide with a diorgano phosphinic acid. In examples polymers are obtained by reacting diphenylphosphinic acid with tetra-n-butyl orthotitanate, with zirconium n - butoxide, with aluminium isopropoxide, with aluminium tris (acetylacetonate), and with ferric tris (acetylacetonate).
