Abstract

A suction device arranged above the sinker and catch bars of a straight-bar knitting-machine prevents fluff and fly from settling on the bars. The fluff is drawn into the tube C Fig. 3 (not shown) through an elongated nozzle C4; or through apertures in the under side of the tube. A guard D is fixed to the top of the tube. In an alternative embodiment Fig. 1 (not shown) the tube is fixed to the catch bar B and projects across the gap between the bars. The tube may extend across several divisions of the machine.
