Breech actions, sliding breech-block; breech actions, sliding barrel and breech-block.-Relates to indicators, for indicating the number of cartridges remaining in the magazine, of the kind in which a single member of a series is seen through an opening, and consists in the combination of an indicator of this kind with a removable magazine, or with a cartridge clip of the kind that is retained in the magazine until all the cartridges are fired. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, a set of numbers is marked on the edge of a disk 4 fixed to a drum 3, which is rotated, by means of a pin-and-groove connexion, by a spindle 2 fixed to the cartridge-lifter 1. The numbers are seen successively through an opening in the magazine. The disk 4 may be dispensed with, the numbers being marked directly on to the drum. In a modification, Fig. 3, the numbers are marked on a flexible spring band 7 fixed at one end to the cartridge-lifter 1 and at the other to the magazine.
