Abstract

1,017,924. Heating steam boilers by hot liquids. C. W. PROJAHN, [trading as PROJAHN WERKE KOMM.-GES.]. Sept. 20, 1962 [Sept. 20, 1961; Oct. 6, 1961], No. 35916/62. Heading F4A. A transportable unit for the generation of steam under pressure comprises a quadrangular easing containing a heater 2 for a liquid exchange medium such as oil which is pumped in a closed circuit containing a steam generator 4 in the form of a horizontally disposed drumtype heat exchanger, the steam generator being disposed at one side of the casing and the necessary gauges and intruments being mounted visibly on the upper half of the front wall of the casing. The parts are mounted in a frame 30 and the heater 2 is heated by an oil burner 1. The heat exchange medium enters the generator by a pipe 3 and is returned to the heater by a pump 6 via a pipe 5. The generator 4 is fed from a condensate vessel 13 having a vent pipe 16 and a return flow pipe 12. The generator has a water level regulator 15, a safety valve 9, and a steam connection 11. In a modification (Figs. 5, 6, not shown) the heat exchange medium is also supplied to a superheater fed with steam from the generator 4 and itself formed as a horizontal heat exchange drum.
