Abstract
1,016,715. Determining magnetic properties. LICENTIA PATENT VERWALTUNGS G. m. b. H. Dec.12, 1962 [Dec.12, 1961], No.46950/62. Heading G1N. An arrangement for determining the hysteresis loss of a magnetic material, stacks 4-7 of which are arranged in the form of a hollow elongated body, comprises an outer insulated ring 12 carrying concentric coils 13, 14 within which the sample stacks are held in contact with an inner coil 2 on an insulated body 1 by pressure vessels 8-11 having at least one resilient wall, the voltage induced in coils 2, and 14 by A. C. energy applied to coil 13 being connected to the respective coils of a power meter 21, and the circuit from the coil 2 including an electronic integrating amplifier 22. An amplifier 20 having high negative feedback is included in the connection to coil 14 and the energizing coil is made considerably longer than the measuring coils in order to render uniform the field in their vicinity. A field compensating winding 16 may be provided and is connected in opposition in opposition to the winding 14. The pressure supplied by the vessels 8-11 may be adjusted by the insertion of a fluid medium and the temperature may be controlled. Measurements at different frequencies with power having differing form factors is referred to. The apparatus may also measure permeability.
