Abstract

1,016,549. Pipe couplings. GAMAH CORPORATION. Aug. 31, 1964, No. 35547/64. Heading F2G. A flexible coupling which permits relative rotary, axial and angular movement between two tubular members, comprises a pair of opposing flanges 10, 12 rigidly secured, respectively, to the tubular members, the flanges including spaced, inner and outer wall portions defining a groove for O-rings 18, 19 and means, such as a sleeve 14 and a nut 15, for coupling the flanges and seal with the O-rings. Each inner wall has an outer peripheral edge sloping axially inwardly towards a decreased diameter, and each outer wall has an outer peripheral edge sloping axially outwardly towards a decreased diameter. The bottoms of the grooves may be sloped, and the tubes may be expanded into contact with the grooved inner walls of the flanges.
