Abstract

1,016,154. Egg cartons. BRODRENE HARTMANN A.B. Dec. 28, 1961, No. 46500/61. Heading B8P. An egg carton moulded from fibrous material and comprising a lower part 10 provided with egg-receiving cells 16, is characterized in that the generatrix of each cell is an inwardly concave circular arc which has a curvature substantially equal to, but not greater than, the curvature in a longitudinal direction of the central body portion of the slenderest egg in a representative sample chosen from a particular weight range, the centre of the generatrix being positioned with respect to the axis and the mouth of the cell so that any egg within the representative sample will contact the cell 16 over an annular area. A generatrix of radius of curvature 90 mm., the centre of which is 57À5 mm. from the axis of the cell and 27 mm. above the mouth of the cell, is alleged to accommodate eggs from 65 to 70 rms. in the above way.
