1,015,189. Cams. M. E. LINDSAY. April 2, 1963, No. 12995/63. Heading F2K. [Also in Division F1] A two-stroke I.C. engine comprises a frame A, Fig. 1, carrying cylinders B, C, for movement axially and independently by means of pins and links 51, 52, and 61, 62 reciprocated by eccentrics 50, 61, on crank-shafts F, G interconnected by gearing not shown. Cylinders B, C, which each may comprise two cylinder halves have ports 23, 33, Fig. 1a, which engage with guides 72, Fig. 6, (not shown) in guideway 18. In a modification one or both cylinders may be moved desmodromically by cams 55, 56, Fig. 8, mounted on the crank-shafts, which act on followers 53, 54 secured to a guided frame 52.
