Abstract

<PICT:1014592/C1/1> Apparatus for perforating fibrous glass tissue comprises a hollow metal cylinder 1 having apertures 2 fitted with tubular cutting dies 3 and journally disposed below this a metal roller 5 covered with a resilient layer 6, e.g. of rubber. As fibrous tissue 7 passes between the rollers 1 and 5 the dies 3 cut out discs therefrom to form an apertured tissue. The discs are blown into a suction extractor system 13 by air issuing from a row of nozzles 12 communicating with a tube 11 connected to a source of compressed air.
