Abstract

1,013,322. Glazing vehicle windows. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. March 18, 1964 [April 24, 1963], No. 16231/63. Heading E1R. The glass 1 of a motor vehicle window is bonded to the frame 3 by polysulphide rubber adhesive 15, the edge of the glass fitting into the channels 19 in a series of spacers 11 of solid shaped rubber about 6 inches apart and each having a surface 21 in engagement with a shoulder 9 on the frame spaced from the glass in the direction of the plane of the glass. A decorative moulding 13 fits over extensions 23 of the spacers 11, alternatively a moulding may be accommodated in a recess in the space of each spacer. Anti-squeak material "Kantex" (RTM) 29 is inserted between the glass and moulding 27 and between the shoulder 7 of the frame and the moulding. The spacer may be continuous and held on the shoulder 9 by means of an L- shaped bracket engaging in a recess on the adjacent side of the spacer.
