Abstract

A process for the manufacture of pigmented polyethylene or polypropylene comprises mixing the polyolefin with a liquid pigment dispersion containing the pigment in finely dispersed form and then removing the liquid by drying, the mixing and drying being such that the polyolefin is maintained in powder form. The liquid pigment dispersion may be in an aqueous or organic medium and with/without a dispersing agent. Organic and inorganic pigments are specified, and in the examples a bisphenolic sulphide is present as antioxidant.
