Abstract

1,012,579. Mechanical garages; elevators. ANCIENS ETABLISSEMENTS COULETTE. Jan. 16, 1964 [Jan. 17, 1963; Dec. 20, 1963], No. 2071/64. Headings B8E and B8H. In a multistorey garage the parking sites surround a lift consisting of a vertical mast and a centrally apertured lift platform fitted on the mast, the platform being guided on the mast only. In Fig. 1 the mast 1 is fixed at the centre of a circular array of parking sites 12 and the platform 8 is rotatable about the axis of the mast. In Fig. 10, the mast 110 is movable on tracks 128, 130, 136 along a passageway 102 flanked by parking sites and an assembly of superimposed platforms 104, 106, 108 is non- rotatably mounted on it. Rotating platform embodiment (Figs. 1, 4 and 5).-The mast 1 provides tracks 6, Fig. 4, for engagement with recesses 5 in an octagonal structure which in turn supports a circular base member 7, Fig. 5, for the platform. The platform 8 is mounted above the base 7 and is rotatable with respect thereto by means of drive units 56. On the platform 8 are a plurality of vehicle supports 9 each tiltable about an axis 65 and incorporating a resilient stop 70. Like supports and stops are provided in the parking sites. The system is controlled by an operator riding with the lift in a walkway 40 surrounding a structure 4 integral with the base 7. Mobile mast embodiment (Figs. 9 and 10).- Each of the platforms 104, 106, 108 provides a plurality of vehicle supports 146 to 156 of the same form as the supports 9 of Fig. 5; so also do the parking sites 138 to 144 on each floor.
