Abstract

1,012,371. Windscreen wiper mountings. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. Nov. 28, 1963 [Dec. 1, 1962], No. 47139/63. Heading A4F. Windscreen wiper equipment is mounted on a carrying element supported transversely of the vehicle forwardly of the dashboard, adjacent to the bottom edge of the windscreen. The carrying element may comprise a pivotable intermediate number 28 between windscreen 3 and bonnet 9, or a transverse panel member, U-shaped channel member or wall elements cooperating with other members to form hollow members, mounted under the bonnet. The equipment and the carrying member are made as a preformed subassembly before detachable attachment to the vehicle body. The motor 11 and the gearing 15 when driving two windscreen wiper arms 13 are preferably symmetrically arranged between them to allow the use of identical and interchangeable transmission arms.
